Many uncertainties will come into focus,
and you will spare yourself much needless vexation
if you open your best investigatory eyes and face squarely the fact that
even under the most civilized conditions
you live amidst an endless struggle for power;
and power that in sophisticated milieus manifests itself in the more subtle auxiliary guises of: position & recognition,
but make no mistake, right there in man’s genes
which carry the directions for the construction of our cells
that make up our physiological control systems,
one of which produces hormones,
some of which fuel an ongoing, non-conscious-in-origin, struggle-for,
--  power.
Such a major thread runs through the lives of all social creatures,
but in man it has a second outlet  --   his mind,
and its realm of a second, non tangible reality,
and it is here that the struggle for power, via position & recognition,
is most experienced by contemporary man, yet least acknowledged.
In the early years before the neural functions called mind
reaches maturity & achieves its center place in the lives of civilized people, the struggle for power asserts itself in
basic & straightforward physical ways, (look at eight year old boys
on a playground; the bullies, the cowed, the uncertain),
but within a short period of time this pristine struggle for raw physical power is suppressed and replaced by ill identified ploys for position & recognition, but still driven by the same forces
there were at work a few years earlier in the school yard.
A short hand definition (sans sarcasm) of being civilized is,
going from saying,“shit” to "medre":
nothing of substance has changed,
but somehow things,  seem nicer  --   and nicer promotes safer.
So the crude bullies of third grade become
football stars in the tenth,
or outstanding musicians in the band,
or academic leaders,
or candidates for class office;
it all seems nicer now than the bloody noses
and the wrestling in the dust of previous times,
but the struggle for power is just as strong --  simply redirected.
(A reminder: as is always the case here,
none of what is said is presented as criticism,
and to carelessly permit thoughts to the contrary
to take up all of your potential consciousness
will be to totally miss their intention,
for there is nothing going on in this entire universe
about which any human has any capacity to criticize;
doing so is proof of one’s normalness,
and one’s lack of understanding anything.)
Based on their genetic temperament,
and outside of their conscious control are those around you,
(family, friends, strangers) engaged in a struggle for power,
(it is most crudely exercised by those closest to you, [parents, siblings], and by those most distant, [chance muggers]),
but under the circumstances in which most reading this live,
the struggle is not manifested in physical confrontations with
those who seek to dominate you,
but rather through mental-grounded appeals & threats.
(Remember: no criticism, nor even cynicism is being served here,
and if you taste such, it is your own ill functioning thoughts
providing same).
In the civilized world, candidates for public positions
ask you to vote them into office only because circumstances do not allow them to simply seize power;
no one motivated to seek public positions of power do so to help others; they do so to dominate others; to have power over them,
and that is the beginning and end of it whether you ever realize it or not.
Men participate in the civilized version of the struggle in much more devious fashion, via religion & academia:
people do not become ministers & rabbis to save-men’s-souls,
but rather to dominate those looking for salvation  --  that is all it is;
and teachers teach for the same reason that comedians
take to the stage  --  domination of an audience,
(without physical backup).
Anyone who tries to sell you anything
is trying to sell you something that is non essential,
(or else they would not have to be trying to get you to buy it),
and anyone who tries to sell you something that cannot be
put in a bag when you leave the establishment
is trying to sell you on their domination.
If they ask you to accept & believe a certain idea or philosophy,
be it political, social, religious, or economic, makes no difference,
what they are really, and likely, unknowingly, attempting to sell you is on you accepting a mental position subservient to them;
they have hormonally driven thoughts which want your thoughts to
accept them as your superior, and since thoughts have no muscles,
their superiority comes in the form of you agreeing that their thoughts are true, correct & glorious while any that conflict are shabby & useless --
--   particularly any of yours.
Their thoughts want to feel that your thoughts recognize their superiority and will bow to them, figuratively;
a preacher does not care what thoughts you have about a supreme being or an afterlife, all he is interested in is that you show your approval for what he says about such.
Every human is so surrounded, immersed and an integral part of
this struggle that examples are as many as there are human activities;
it even goes on in brief bursts among strangers conversing in
a check out line, and men passing momentarily on the street;
the particular hormonal make up of all people is constantly being reflected in their physical movement, and in their speech,
both in content and in tone,
and two people normally will  recognize who is the more dominant,
and each will assume their appropriate role;
this certainly holds down violence & friction,
but not consciously realizing what is continually going on
also leaves consciousness feeling fretful & uncertain:
“Why” it asks, “Are human affairs so unjust & inequitable,
and why am I not recognized for the unique talent that I am?”
Every person who has ideas to peddle, (that is:
anyone who believes that their idea of what is going on in a certain matter is correct and opposing ones, fallacious),
is unwittingly struggling for power, and a power of dominance
that has no substance other than what your thoughts say it has.
Every time you criticize, argue-with, or even pay-attention-to
some other person’s thought,
you are seeking recognition from him;
you want him to recognize your thought as superior to his,
and thus his mental submission to you;
you seek to become famous  --  one mentally subdued person at a time:
it is pigmies conquering pigmies; fleas overwhelming other fleas,
and the pigmies & fleas are imaginary at that;
you cannot even carry their little bodies back on your shield;
the ordinary minded engage in a never concluding battle of
Jack Frost vs. Snow White.
Only fools wants to be recognized-by, and either:
fawned or feared by their peer fools --  no one else would,
(this number currently hovers around six billion).
Every time the thoughts that flow through your head express themselves --  they seek fame;
they want to be recognized;
they want other men’s thoughts to cede to their superior position in the mental scheme of things;
the thoughts that life --  via your genetics, then hormones –
runs through that operation of your brain that men call, mind,
want by gawd!, to be appreciated, dammit!      That is all they ask:
just a little recognition and appreciation.
Grow up if you really want to wake up,
and recognize the nature of man’s second reality for what it is:
a total world of fantasy & make believe,
(if a Disney could ever capture this in a physical structure,
all of the world’s other playgrounds, sports arenas, theatres, churches, universities, art galleries & political parties
would be quickly out of business),
and if this is where you passively permit that neural potential known as your, consciousness to spend its time,
you (mentally speaking) may as well put on a Goofy suit.
Then specifically among those small pocket-exceptions to
the six billion daily park-goers this generally unrealized situation persists;
most who say they seek to awaken their consciousness from its normal slumber want simply to be dominated, (their rabbi must have been lax),
or else they want to lead others to awakening,
(after third grade bullying was squashed, they later failed to make the football team --  now their followers are gonna get it!)
Deep into your very cellular structure,
far beyond any normal conscious awareness
there lurks in everyone the instinctive desire to either:
dominate others, or to submit to domination;
that is the way it is tangibly and observably,
and that is also the way it is mentally   ---    and unnoticed.
Notice it and you can get free of it,
and until you do get loose from this species wide struggle,
you have no idea whatever of the power it exerts in your everyday life;
you simply do not realize how debilitating a cold is  –
--  one that you were born with  --  until you are over it.
Get grown --  get over it.
You have nothing worthwhile to say to anyone about man’s second, cultural, mental-dependent world & its sports –
no one does --  that is the point  --  the one almost impossible to see,
for it is at the very edge of this universe;
right beyond the rim of everything that life tells your consciousness that you know  --  but there is more possible;
it is damn near impossible to grasp  --   but it is there....and it is possible;
but all struggles with all other human beings will definitely keep you
from it  --  you can count on that.
So which will it be: get to the bottom of all this? --  or:
make a name for yourself amongst those who haven’t got a clue?
(and by the way: this includes the thoughts in your own head).

         Either: dominate, submit, or take a long-g-g-g-g-g-g trip –
                                              (by yourself).
