While the benefits of the brain’s
thoughts are singular
and too numerous to mention,
it has one, (let’s-do-our-best-to-ignore-it)
drawback,
which is that it is a sucker,
a patsy, and will,
on no more than the word of
a stranger,
lead its host body into activities
that are obviously not in its overall best interest (fasting, counter instinctive
alterations to sleep & sexual habits, the abandonment of reserved resources),
always tied to a thought that
says such activity will lead to
supernaturally beneficial results;
the umbrella limning of this
defeat could be thus couched:
the brain will cause some of
the thoughts it produces to claim they support certain ideas that the brain
knows to be either patent nonsense, or plainly beyond its knowledge sufficient
to form such rational support or not, (that the dead are still alive somewhere;
that there are
conscious forces, living entities,
extrinsic to our universe, and that
via their ipsidixit claims,
some here, privately converse with them, etc,
[and this does not even go into
the everyday childish flim flams
to which grown, educated men
willingly submit themselves,
("The guy in the alleyway with
the folding table & lookout
is clearly operating a fair
game of skill with the 3 cards”;
“To receive my billion dollars
from the overseas lottery I have just unwittingly won, it is quite understandable
that they would ask me to
at least chip in a measly
forty bucks to help defray their expenses in locating me”, or any of the
other, sometimes-appearing, “legitimate” business scams involving such
revered institutions as banking,
the stock market, indeed, anything
that must be promoted to be sold)]).
And it is not accurate to leave
this to the dismissive notion that
some people are just unusually
gullible, or stupid, or unsophisticated;
Barnum himself held devoutly
religious beliefs:
even the flim flamers are conned
-- no one is immune,
and the biggest suckers of all
are those who pretend to reject
this native mental characteristic,
(most are not supposed to,
or man’s singular activities
would come to a quick stop).
This quirk does not show itself
when the conscious operations of the brain are dealing with the tangible
world;
therein it can make errors in
measurements, (that river is no more than fifty yards across: iron is harder
than diamond, etc),
and such can be corrected;
with the external world, thought
makes judgments that either demonstratively match the physical reality
of that which they speak of,
or they do not, and their veracity
can be ultimately determined,
but when the brain’s thoughts
deal with matters which exist only
in thought, there
is no longer a question of whether the ideas are correct or incorrect,
and there is now not the safeguard of being able to physically test whether
the words the thoughts declare
match up with anything tangibly
real;
it matters not whether your
tape has twelve inches to the foot, or twelve hundred, if you are measuring
Cinderella's waist.
The mind can be fooled because
part of the game it plays
consists of foolishness;
the first-reality-thoughts
in a priest’s mind seriously expect --
-- demand delivery of
ten cartons of candles when ten are ordered,
but later his second-reality-thoughts
take charge --
and while still appearing serious
--
he engages in totally silly
speech & activity that, however,
many minds find highly entertaining
--
but it is not
a carton of candles.
Do not let the seemingly serious
thoughts that magically-appear
in your mind mislead you: this
has been no fault finding exercise;
for the “defect, or flaw” supra
described is merely a,
quotation marks,
“defect” for it does no one any harm –
……who is not aware of it….or
who does not dwell on it,
(is the room cleared now?!)
This drawback of the mind being
so seemingly susceptible to deceit
is the very foundation of all
human progress via technology
(the alteration of the environment),
and ‘tis of interest to the
few for reasons totally beyond all matters of man’s mass evolution.
Those few born with that certain-hunger
that
the collective trough cannot
sate
will profitably zero in on the
fact that all of the thoughts concerning things non tangible which
they and everyone else plays medium to
are entirely self generating,
and totally self sustaining,
and that therein exists no iron,
no inches, no cartons,
no anything but electro-chemical
impulses that
the brain calls thoughts
--
and you & everyone else
take its word for it & run with it.
Stop running
with it &
chasing
after thoughts,
and you will suddenly see things
as you never have.
The
mind cannot be fooled if you are paying it no attention,
and
when the thoughts in your head are not fooling you,
that
is the end of it;
you
know how to feed your unique hunger.

P.S.
If the routine mind part of the brain’s consciousness did work better,
the
only study material you would need to, wake up would be to figure out why
this statement is correct:
“Anyone
who will answer the question: ‘Are you awake?’ ---
isn’t.”
P.P.S.
The supra post script is a tropical version of the story about the man
with reportedly,
the
world's biggest dick, who, when asked its exact length admitted he didn't
know,
explaining
that whenever he began to be aroused, the demands for blood to that region
are so great
that
it would deplete the supply to his brain to the point that he would always
pass
out before it reached its full size;
likewise
a man who, at the times when he sees for himself what is going on,
no
longer has any thoughts about -- what
is going on.
Anyone who believes they know how enlightened they are
-- still don't get it.
The glorious, passing-out of routine consciousness.
