THE WEEKEND:
PART 2:
WHEREIN PART ONE IS
TRACKED & REFRESHED
______________________
The original purpose of Myths
was to form a link between
two types of activities in man's
life:
those which accomplish something
and those which mean something;
the ordinary eventually took
myths, too much as history,
while the few, (in their childhood),
take them too seriously.
Sincerity without understanding
produces nothing of note.
Thought
alone makes the distinction between that which will feed you,
and
an illustrated cookbook:
thought
alone fails to make the distinction between fucking,
and
pictures of fucking;
thus has mythology fallen into the hands of pornographers.
Being
unenlightened is being so intelligent that you believe that,
Waking
up is more meaningful than a screwdriver.
Nature
accomplishes things,
but
only thinking about it means anything.
On one planet was a man who wanted
to stand on one foot
long enough to count to a million
-- and even though he never did,
the question is: if he had,
would it have:
(A): accomplished something
-- or (B): meant something?
Wakin’
up is still a lot like a good ass whuppin’.
No
man knows for sure what is really going on
who
will tell you what he believes is.
Those
who believe that what they say about awakening has meaning,
have
not accomplished it.
Man’s routine state of consciousness
may exist in one dimension,
and his desire for another one,
in another one.
If two wrestlers never met
it would explain why one of
them was never able to pin the other.
Wanting to wake up is wanting
more from thought than it has to give.
There once was an actual difference
between:
going-to-pieces,
and: pulling-yourself-together;
but then men left The
Garden Of Accomplishment,
and The
Great Flood Of Meaning swamped the planet.
Men accustomed to living underwater
have a most difficult time
understanding such a situation
when they hear it talked about
over their little shortwavers.
When your wake-up-knowledge
comes exclusively from others,
the all enlightening distinction
between:
something that accomplishes
something, and
something that merely means
something (to you)
gets fatally blurred.
The life you live accomplishes
what it was supposed to,
but you can be fooled into thinking
it did not mean what it should.
Dreams can only damage the realm of meaning,
same as dreaming creates the illusion
of meaning.
