In the three dimensional, temporal world in which thought
normally operates,
merry go rounds represent both the summary of simplicity,
and the epitome of complexity;
thus is the meaningless efficiency always present in
life on the-midway-of-the-mind.

   In the apparent Land Of Logic,
   it is always, “Carnival time” somewhere,
  (which is why you can’t get home delivery of The Truth
   on the weekend.)

One man said: “I admit: I do have some thoughts of which
I do not approve,” and a passer by added:
“All you are admitting is that you have thoughts.”

   It is always those without dogs
  who want to be judges at kennel shows,
 (“And damn if them succeedin’, ain’t about how life works!”)

To be asleep is to feel that you are primarily driven by
external conditions;
to want-to-wake-up is to conclude that you are mainly controlled by conditions
inside of you;
to actually, BE awake is to have gotten past all of this.

Only those who do not know what is going on still debate the question of:
“What IS going on?”

Consciousness = resistance;
being conscious causes men to resist certain things,
things that come from the consciousness of other men.

From one view,
the prime purpose of consciousness is to make men resist things; to resist the way they are  --   and to want to change.

         This is the natural life of a creature who is conscious.

In regard to mankind’s continuing debate over the question of
what is real and what isn’t,
we were here today, going to have various & competing views
aired, via a round robin discussion  --   but on the way over,
he was viciously attacked by a gang of blue jays.

   If you will suddenly just, “look around” while in a dream –
  it will awaken you.

Definition Time:
  Advertising: Paid whining.
  Acting: Whining that normally pays better.
  Telling other people to, “Wake up!”: (Not worth making fun of).

That which the few seek that will answer all questions
is literally as available and out in the open as the ground itself,
but it is as though men know it by another name, (such as, dirt),
and their thoughts cannot make the translation & connection.

Thus they walk the planet in search of that which men cannot avoid --
even should they try their utmost .

Anyone who feels a continuity with the past,
(regarding such matters as: Zen, Yoga,
and all other attempts to awaken)
will never get to the bottom of things;
he who does so turns out to ultimately have no connection to anything discernable that has gone before  --  you cannot --
for such is the very essence of,  being-asleep.

  What You Need Ponder
  Regarding Man’s Relationship To The Environment:
  Men farting in the woods does not embarrass trees,
  while humans will take a thundershower personally.

The same feature that makes men say: “My mind’
is also responsible for him being able to picture himself
as somehow separate from the routine run of nature,
(e.g.: of him being capable of doing
unnatural damage to the planet).
 A man without the knowledge of what life is about
is chopped into a thousand pieces & thrown to the wind.

One man  --  in the morning, when he got out of bed  --
was already ahead, (because, you see)  --   he’d get up alone.

   Living in special, inner isolation is the state that
   answers the special needs of the few.

One guy describes trying to wake up as:
“Doing neuro-surgery on yourself --
     in the dark  --
        without a scalpel.”

Within every metaphor, parable & allegory is plain reality  --
--  trying to get out  --  wishing it could speak.

Wanting-to-awaken is:
wanting more from words than they have to give.

You are getting really close when you begin to feel like you could not be any nakeder or transparent.

  To wake up is to disappear.

There was one man who couldn’t keep his mind on his driving;
he kept his eyes on the road & his hands on the wheel--  but,
                        he couldn’t keep his mind on his driving.

As opposed to most people, one man could think of more than one thing at a time,
unfortunately, none of the additional ones he would pick ever did him any good.

    A hundred roads are better than two only if one of them is superior to them all.

      To awaken to hot reality requires that you keep your eye always on
      the one basket in which all of your eggs come & go.

Then there was this other man --  oh,  this one other man:
a man who could not keep a promise  --
the only one that mattered  --
               that special one TO himself.

How better to spell & define, “Natural” than:  M – A – N,
and how else TO describe, The Great Struggle than as:
Running head-on into the front line of life’s everyday mental parade.

Some of you have mistaken the intent of these daily writings;
the message is not that “waking up" is impossible,
their purpose in fact is to offer practical hints on how to most efficiently go about it.
Re read any that you may have originally believed were pessimistic nay saying;
read them again with a clear head,
for no discouragement regarding this marvelous, real & alive matter will ever be found here.   jan
