One man says: “If this is truly  --  The News, then answer me this:     Have you noticed that at least ninety-four per cent of the thinking you do in the time that you set aside each day for thinking,
(and even at night when you decide before going to bed that you will dream for a certain period about a certain subject that night),
that you spend said time thinking about other thoughts,
thoughts that you yourself have already thought about before,
or else about thoughts that you have heard about
that someone else has already thought about.
What's with this?!” he asks, "Should we even be calling this -- thinking?
Tell me -- what's going on here?!”

There was a man who had stripes, and was quite annoyed by them;
he quit thinking about them, and he was no longer annoyed by them.
“Hey, I know a metaphor when I smell one  --  so:
do you mean to stand there and tell me that my anger would not
bother me so much if I quit thinking about how angry I am?”
”Why, hell no!   How stupid do you think I am!”

One captive rider sang to himself all the time --
to keep from facing the fact that he was on a horse.

The apparent disparity between truth & error
is rendered irrelevant by independent thought.

To one man, all incoming data automatically divided itself into
three categories:  positive, negative & neutral;
he would ignore the first two.
Note: No matter the nature of the info,
it is your thought that creates the categories.

One man snored all the time  --
to keep himself distracted from the fact that he was asleep.

The thoughts of all captives are prejudiced; how could they not be; thus is ordinary thought merely a symbol for real thought.

One man recommends this: "Look at a rabbit feeding in your yard,
and think about the day by day life he leads  --  not having any thoughts --
without coming to any conclusion,  until you grasp his existence.
Pursuing this, to its end,
will eventually make your inner lawn burst out in clover."

One man kept talking to himself about himself all the time --
to cover for the fact that he didn't know who he was.

If thoughts did not have grasping hands, everyone would be awake.

In the, Single Possibility are all possibilities,
a fact transparent to non grubby  eyes/I's.
Note: In the, Unified Thought Pool resides all possible human selves --
             --  yours included --
and with no more significant distinction
than exists between one drop of water and another.

Anything said about another person's ideas other than: “Interesting”
is the sound of a possum looking for headlights.

One man kept looking out the windows --
since he didn't know where the door was.

An independent mind is always thinking more than it is saying -- always.

A man who is nearly to the-bottom-of-things is no longer confused,
or bothered by anyone else's thoughts --  only by those of his own brain.

There are but two bases for ordinary humor:
physical and mental clumsiness.
(“You could have said: ‘ineptitude’ --  it sounds nicer!”)

One man kept thinking about, THAT so he wouldn't have to confront the
fact that he knew nothing about the more important subject of, THIS.

Men pretend to, be asleep
so they won't have to do anything about being only partially awake.

To really think, that is: to think independently,
you must be able to think on one foot --  then on the other --
then on both, and then while in a mid air jump.
Note: It is difficult to leave your cell --  even if the door’s left open --
if you are too stiff from too long sitting down.

Men tolerate the Prince's endless ramblings
since they don't know how to contact the King.

For the sake of clarity, one man automatically deleted about half of
what his thoughts wanted him to say.

To be alive is to be insulted --  if you continue to think as you do.
Moral: There is no way out – plus: every way imaginable.

While it may not be spatially possible to meet the King face to face --
a real man never stops trying.

One man’s advice: “Save your sympathy for the serious:
those who know what’s going on don’t need it.”

There is a secret. extremely efficient, quick short cut to enlightenment
known as, “Stroming Your Glotz”
but no one has ever known what it is.
(How’s that for secrecy and efficiency?!)

One prisoner dreamed-of, plotted & widely discussed -- escape!
just so he wouldn't have to ever actually step-through-the-cell-door.

In the ordinary world, the best sort of promotion of oneself is:
self promotion:
in the rarefied realm of the few, the best sort of promotion of oneself is:
no promotion --  not even any thought of such.

Everybody keeps running for one reason: to keep from stopping.
     "I don't get it."
"Neither does anybody;  that's why they keep running."

In the battle against the neural status quo,
an alert man's inalterable, genetic temperament is to him
like a non fatal bullet wound of which he takes initial note,
but then ignores, and goes on about his business.

During non essential interludes   --   men have thoughts to keep them from thinking about them having thoughts.

Ultimately, man is no more mentally imprisoned than he is
confined to eating only food that is nourishing.

Moral & Punch Line: If you think about  this --  and finally digest it  --
it will be the punch line.
  “I don’t get it.”
”If you will just think about it rigorously, I’m sure you will.”
  “Oh, I  -- get it --  I just don’t-the-hell like it!
It’s more fun to believe that you have no room to maneuver at all.”
”I’m hip --  but a self inflicted wound doesn’t count for anything.”

Save your sympathy, and hostility for the pseudo-healthy.

Under insignificant conditions:
men have thoughts to keep them from thinking about them having thoughts:
not realizing this situation is what confuses yo
u  --  that's all.
