To read and think about, Enlightenment,
Waking
Up,
(and all the other names indicating
a change in consciousness),
is to be victim of the biggest
scam ever pulled inside this galaxy;
the fraud is not that the change
cannot occur,
but is in the way our thoughts
tell us to go about achieving it,
and being infused with the belief
that it can be thought about,
when it is thought itself which
alone impeds the so-called,
“waking up” to objective reality,
yet notice that you are able
to think calmly even about this assertion;
you can weigh its merits, ponder
its possible significance to the matter,
so the accusation must be incorrect
-- right,
thought alone cannot be the
problem -- right?!
Without doubt, it is thought
alone which will take you from the
un satisfying ordinary state, but
it was thought alone that put you there.
Everyone is a schizoid, (Gr.,
"of divided mind");
in their head, everyone is two
people,
due to the brain’s long ago
creation of the fictitious character, “I”
who now pretends -- quite
successfully – to be something apart from the
brain, (witnessed by men’s common references to, “My brain” –
as though it is not his brain
totally responsible for the comment).
All ostensible schools for the
change-of-radical-perception
point to a villain: man’s false
personality; his deceptive spirit;
his deluded mind; his illusionary
self,
yet none, which such notions
strike as indubitably on the mark
ever ask themselves: “Who in
us makes such an identification?,
and if he can so clearly see
it -- why does he do nothing about it --
but comment?”
No one ever asks themselves that. And why?
because they have no, "themselves"
to do the asking;
all they have is that one brain
that is making these statements,
identifying the culprit that
keeps man in a dreamlike state,
and why should it turn the accusing
finger on itself after it went to all the
evolutionary
trouble to create the illusionary dummy & fall guy of this
“self” men now accept that they have, (or that they are --
it gets really confusing once
you start trying to verbally untangle it),
but the clear & unavoidable
truth is that whatever you say --
your one brain said it, even
if, when confronted, it says: “I did not.”
When this is pointed out to
them, just who do men believe it is in them
that speaks up and denies it?!
Thought, (the brain’s goon squad),
is by no means or measure
given the abiding credit &
respect it deserves;
in a passing moment, men will
pay mouth service to the,
power-of-ideas, but it
is not an awareness, constant in their lives;
no one, even neurologists &
psychiatrists, those whose profession
appears chest deep in the subject
recognize thought’s might
in that they too fail to face
the fact that THEY do not study and write papers
on the brain’s thinking, but rather their brain’s thinking does.
None can fail to acknowledge
the brain’s essentially in all manner of physiological
matters to which it endlessly attends without any thought being
required or involved,
and it is easily observed when
things go awry in its thought operations,
but as for the normal influence
of thought -- for far too long has
The
Academy overlooked our most outstanding actor.
Consider a scene from not that
long ago,
(and in fact, still to be found
today in diluted form):
a warrior-king/Caesar/Khan has
physically subdued a people,
and successfully repels periodic
attempts by other warriors,
and pretenders-to-power to replace
him;
then one day he is faced with
a new adversary:
not another warrior --
but a priest -- with no army, and no weapons,
but gradually his subjects become
more afraid of an invisible God-King
who the priest tells them lives
in the sky,
than they are of him and all
his swords,
so much so that they will submit
to death by his physical hand
rather than deny their allegiance
to this new, invisible king.
Be assured that the Caesars
who found themselves in this situation
gave thought all the
credit it deserved;
imagine the grudging respect
they felt for these priests
who came up with this take-away-a-tyrant's-breath
tactic;
guys with no armies, no
weapons -- no nothin’
-- except thought:
a thought that said there was
a Super God King who was so great that
mere humans would never be able
to see him, but he was so powerful that he
secretly rules the entire universe.
These solitary, weaponless priests
could show up with nothing but this
thought, and soon have all of
the king’s subjects more afraid of,
and influenced by it than all
the king’s physical might.
Just consider it: People more
afraid of a thought than of reality!
So, in some instances, thought’s
power has truly been recognized,
yet these are special circumstances,
and notice, never talked about in these instant
terms.
No, the inescapable, unavoidable,
everywhere-at-once,
all-things-to-all-circumstances,
overwhelming, irresistible,
singular power of thought
is not a continuing part of
a man’s ordinary consciousness --
because it IS his ordinary
consciousness.
What?! -- you think light
is aware of itself: “Oh, it is me: I AM light.”
Has some part of your brain
ever interrupted what you were saying
about your thoughts, and corrected
you by noting that it is your thoughts saying
whatever it is that you claim to be saying about them?
The brain invented the thought
responsible for,
Enlightenment & Awakening,
and all of the other
various teachings devoted to
the attainment thereof,
but it did so for the same reason
that it created the illusionary character
in you of, “You”
-- a thing that seems apart from the brain;
the brain concocts such creations
as, “I, Yoga, Zen, etc”
so that light would have something
to look at………
….....seeing as how it cannot
look at itself.
Those wired with the innate attraction
to
the thought of them being able
to change radically & abidingly,
that activity in their brain
that produces thought
are quite happy to study System
X’s instructions on how to do it,
but they are not so pleased
nor inclined to zero in on
what is at the heart of the
matter,
which is the thought originally
responsible for
the creation of System X, and
their interest therein.
Light grumbles: “Hey – don’t
be shining that light over this way!”
When conversing, shy people will
look at their feet
rather than at the person they
are talking to,
so too will the brain have you
(it) believe you are looking at this
character it created (you) rather
than become hopelessly entangled
in the normally futile attempt
to look at itself when it is talking.
Being “Asleep” is the brain looking
somewhere else when it is talking,
rather than where it could be
looking:
doing the latter is -- Waking
Up.

that thoughts control themselves --

control you?!
