          HERDS, HOOSEGOWS & HUBBUBS IN THE HEAD
                       __________________________________

To keep them pacified: prisoners are made to believe that
their lives are more complicated than they really are.
(Imagine what a shock this is to escapees when they get away,
and discover the truth!)

A certain balance is maintained by the dumber of the herd believing
they are of superior intelligence.
Were it not for this arrangement, many fancy balls, debates & wars would never get started
in that no one would feel comfortable asking for the first dance.
            “Hey --  that’s never stopped my voices before!”

What ordinary men call their personal “problems”
act as mental versions of circadian clocks.
(How can you tell if you are “getting-somewhere” unless
it is obvious that you are not?!)

Only the voices have the ability to turn your eyes south
and make you believe you are seeing the aurora borealis.
      (The ever-running commentary certainly helps, huh?!)

A man whose individual mind is still tied directly to the collective one
has something more dangerous than shoe laces to trip over.

People born with the propensity to live upstairs, close to the voices, ultimately feel that they are charged with some sort of mission;
that they are responsible for trying to convince other people of
some thing-or-the-other.
This stirs up a bile in them, whose acidity is increased by the fact
that few apply sustained effort to their task,
and suffer appropriate human guilt there from.

The permissable math of the prisoner is to only count to two.
   (Anything beyond that makes the voices, I mean  --  the guards
                                           feel threatened.)

Those of a non independent mind*
are always singing someone else’s song.
Singing it and smiling because of it,
or singing it and grimacing there from  --   but,
singing someone else’s song nevertheless,
(with not even a hint of originality)
.
A prisoner in Cell Block C once chanted in protest:
“No originality  --   no peace!
 No originality  --   no peace,”
and whether he understood it or not --  he had it right.
If all you hear in your head are the voices replaying things they
heard from other voices,
you will never know the eye/I opening peace that comes from
completing This Great Escape,
and being out of the prison’s general  population.

To be routinely civilized is to be beaten down by the voices,
which commonly leads to letting the FACTS of being alive
interfere with the ACTS of being so.
       (Another reason that man has a mind.)

If other prisoners’ words can make you mad, then two things:
one: you’re in-for-life, and two: you’ll never learn to think for yourself.
  “Pa pa, is it really possible to, think-for-yourself?”
       “You’ll never know ‘til you know.”
   “Oh…I thought you were going to say: ‘Until you try’.”
        “Yeah – I know.”

Stop Signs:
Criticism stops thought;
umbrage stops thought;
fear stops thought;
anger stops thought;
pity stops thought;
impatience stops thought;
and partisan thought stops thought.
(You can take it from there.)

Those of constricted intelligence are always the most
vocal supporters of, “culture;”
and when not  --  its most vociferous critic.
...(Mutter the cows:  “I may not know what art is,
     but I know that it is mocking me.”)

There is something about the whole idea of a greater
“independence-of-mind” that really annoys average cows.
     (Why so, you reckon?)

All conclusions trail behind them --   ellipses.
An independent mind can be defined by its inability to rest with
the rest of the herd.

Escapees do not merely “run away from their problems,”
but rather abandon voice-driven, partisan thinking --
--  which is the basis of all human problems.
(Note: Straight-forward-facts do not appear all that straight forward when viewed from a jail cell.)

The backbone of civilization is not flexible,
which is why law abiding citizens are kept in cramped cells:
to make them get stiff & unbending.
  (Hey, don’t you recognize civilization’s real name when you hear it?)

People worried about their legacy to future generations  --  insult life.
………If life could BE insulted!…………..……..by the likes of man.

Every Saturday morning without fail, one father would say to his son:
“Don’t forget: everything I’ve told you all week is nothing but words,”
    “Including the SERIOUS stuff?!?”
“Get real!”

Question: Why should a man who knows the world’s neatest secret
tell anyone else?

     (The query was code-indexed by Immanuel Rant as:
                              “The Scatological Tongue-scraper.”
  [And one guy says he was runner up for, Congeniality in last year’s,
                               Miss  Misanthropy Pageant].)

Trying to wake up is the attempt to remove all adjectives from nouns,
and relieve all verbs of the need for subjects.

    The desire to live naked in an equally straightforward world.

There was once a school for, getting-to-the-bottom-of-things
which taught but a single course, (titled):
“Admit Nothing: Especially If The Voices Say It Is So.”

A liberated mind must construct its OWN challenges, and entertainment.

The main decoration in most men’s cells is brain stains.

It might be a mild indication that you’re beginning to wake-up in this life if you find you have no particular preference one way or the other regarding the possibility of another after this one.
(Outside the physical: impartiality is the key to super-now-survival.)

Today’s Weight Loss Tip: A person full of questions is full of shit.
                                               …( if they still take the questions seriously.)

Civilization: A velvet cell for a prickly prisoner.

The independent minded tend to conclusions that are abrupt,
and un serialized.

The motto of the solid-citizen-prisoner is:
“Be true to the voices, and they’ll be true to you.”
             (No wonder this place is such a hell hole!)

Do periodically remind yourself that in truth:
man is no more in prison than he is not in prison.

Once you do get your mind cleaned out*
you will discover that most of the words you use
have been mis-defined in one way or another.
(For the privileged few this has particular pertinence
pertaning to all personal possessive pronouns.
..and which also leads to this description of: “The independent literate:”
                       One from whom you never hear.)

Going-to-sleep is sliding godzilla’s foot into bunny slippers;
           waking-up is going barefooted.

You cannot know if you are awake;
all you can know is when you are not asleep.

The Trip: Only those capable of brain sweat can see it through to the end.

And a son asked his father:
“Okay, enough already with the herds & the prisons & the voices;
 tell me something I can do about it!”
   "All right me lad, here’s what you can do:
Keep your eye-on-the-ball --   UNTIL
you realize that your eye and the ball are one.

               The silliest thing you can do
                            is say a word, referring to, ‘you.’

How much of a short cut do you need?
How much closer can you & the-thing-called-you be --
                                 --  before you see?!

         Before you see what is right in back of your eyes,
                                 and catch on entirely.”

                                            J

**  What a, "cleaned-out, independent mind" actually is,  cannot be accurately described.
             ....... which is pretty obvious.......if you can think about it for yourself.
