The problems men perceive in life  --  of types, there are two:
those you can put your hands on  --   and possibly fix,
and those you cannot touch  --   which are fools’ pastimes.

Anything man can lay his hands on, he can change;
a small child with a spoon can affect some change on a large mountain, and any machine, no matter how badly broken, can be rebuilt.
If it is in the natural world & can be touched --  man can alter it;
if man made it & it can be touched  --  he can repair it;
anything other than that is mazes for mental hamsters,
(read: your normal fellow earthlingers.)

The primo problem in life is staying alive,
and everyone realizes that doing so requires hands-on activities,
but to have an existence beyond mere physical survival,
one that is fully human, and makes use of man’s unique qualities,
requires that you continually live a portion of your life involved in
activities that have no material nature:  The world of thoughts.

Thoughts, in their naturally occurring state,
do not distinguish themselves from tangible entities,
and even though they clearly be of a different reality,
it is almost impossible to make them so aware.
Thoughts look at a library and say: “There is knowledge,”
or at a cathedral, and say: “There is religion” yet that is not so;
there stands structures men built to physically represent
certain thoughts they have had,
(adding a new wing to the psychology department will increase
no one’s understanding of human nature, nor settle any debates
between opposing theories thereof).

Once man’s survival needs are, “met-for-the-day,” (so to speak,
which presently for most, consumes literally, very little time),
the rest of his energy is spent running about in his mental world:
reading, talking, day dreaming,
and what his thoughts believe they encounter in these activities
is an endless stream of problems:
things that simply are not “right” ---  in the world of thought,
and things that should be “fixed” --  in the world of thought --  but,
nothing you cannot touch can be fixed, or changed.

The roulette wheel that is the collective mind of man is unique
to physics in that the movement of the ball provides the energy that
turns the wheel to make the ball move.

Even from afar, a man can give directions to repair a disabled machine, or perform surgery,
but no man can communicate with another to instruct him how he can change his views on a certain matter, (as if he wanted to anyway).
With you holding a sword to his throat, you can cause a man with different political, or religious thoughts to sign a membership card of your party, or church,
but with nothing other than your thoughts as a weapon, all you can expect for your efforts is endless opposition & frustration.

Ordinary men see other men to be holding faulty thoughts,
which however, can be repaired if they will but avail themselves of your correct ones,
then they --  and the whole world --  would be much better off.

        Thoughts cannot be fixed --  for none are broken;
        thoughts cannot be changed  --   'cause you can’t get your hands on ‘em.

The usefulness of having a constant awareness of this
non standard realization is, as always,
as it applies to the operations in your own brain.
In that one lump, confined to your skull,
all that has been above noted as occurring in life --  occurs in you.
One part of your brain has thoughts;
another part of your brain finds the thoughts faulty,
and wants them fixed.

Ordinary --  educated, sophisticated men attribute the situation
to their being indoctrinated with other people’s thoughts,
(parents, peers, society), which conflict with theirs.
Those brains born to accept this common explanation can never see its patently absurd limitations;
such brains make up almost entirely the collective thinking of mankind, and represents his combined, conventional wisdom.

But there are no mental sins of fathers to pass on to sons;
there are no wrong religious ideas of one group to infect another,
and the conflict & confusion in your own head has not its roots
anywhere outside of your head.
Every man’s perception of there being problems in life which needed to be fixed,  comes from-&-through his own brain.
Once a man was verbally-conscious, if he could be totally isolated
in conditions where physical survival was not a challenge,
even having no knowledge of the affairs of the rest of humanity,
his brain would continue to turn out problem thoughts that it would then find in need of repair.

Neither circumstances, nor other men’s inadequate minds
are responsible for the endless number of erroneous thoughts
by which you are surrounded  --    and which  --
                     surround & imprison your own mind.

Being concerned-with, and believing you can fix problems that you cannot put your hands on will keep you forever,
(as the mystics like to say): Fast, fast asleep in a world of dreams.
Without question, it is an inner world that is the natural & acceptable
home for six billion of your fellow creatures,
and a world, you might note, that continues to grow & flourish
in spite of the incessant dire warnings of calamity that will surely come to pass if all the broken thoughts floating around are not soon seen to,
and corrected.

An ordinary, sane & sensible mind can out-of-hand
dismiss all that has been supra said;
and while it is genuine,
none of it can be “proven” to an ordinary mind  --   and
it makes no difference to anyone, or anything any way.

Only a few people are born with brains wired & primed to
directly accept the difference between what you can touch,
and what you cannot,
and the important --  but – quite different roles they play
in the life of homo sapiens.

To be of ordinary mind & comprehension is to be forever wanting to fix things that cannot be fixed
in that they exist only in men’s thoughts,
and regardless that your natural ones insist that even thoughts can be
broken, irregular & erroneous,
no one’s thoughts can repair another’s  --    note:
your own brain cannot fix the improper thoughts that it itself produces:
it tries to, “wake up” & “achieve enlightenment” --
but what is the consistent result?

There is no question of the experiential reality behind such terms,
but those WITH it  --   know what it is and what it is not,
and what it is not is

                      a fixing of a world not in need of repair.
