Everything man has accomplished
has been through -
-- combining;
the progress of man is based
on a special kind of
chemical working;
his uniqueness is not in his
opposing thumb;
his tool making, or even his
cerebral cortex,
but in his use of them in --
combining.
Same as other animals,
man cannot create new matter,
but unlike them he does not
simply take the matter extant -- as he finds it
--
he puts it together in new combinations
that
produce results not otherwise
available.
Did not man continually do this
--
life as now lived would not
be possible.
Man:
Thy most distinctive name be --
Combiner.
Through chemistry, different
physical things can be put together -- and they will hold,
but what mind puts together
--
being composed of naught but
words & concepts --
will not hold,
but will come apart as easily
as it was put together,
(Some random examples of this
verbal/conceptual, combining-&-re-combining:
“There is life after death”
-- followed by:
”There is no life after death,”
or:
“I have decided to love my enemies”
-- countered by: “Screw my enemies.” or:
”Beliefs different from mine
have their own honor” ---
reconstructed as:
“Beliefs different from mine
are insane.”
Words puteth together & soothe;
words teareth apart & disrupt.
Man’s combining of things both
physical,
and non-physical, benefits the
herd,
but for the solitary figure
longing to break free of the sluggish mob mentation,
not recognizing the chemistry
involved in all ideas which do not have a material counterpart
is anything but
beneficial.
Plastic, upon which much of comfortable,
contemporary life depends,
is an artificial material concocted
by man through
the combining of materials naturally found,
(so far, so good, even for the
would-be escapee),
but once men have overcome the
need to
constantly see to mere survival,
their thoughts take up the concocting
of things artificial that are not
material in nature --
and which themselves
are produced by
the combining of substances
-- non substantial.
It makes no real difference to
anyone if someone denounces plastics as being, “Unnatural! Artificial,
even -- ‘Plastic’!”
--
people continue to use them,
(even those who denounce them),
but people do pretend to really
care if someone
denounces the idea of god, harvard,
or jewishness
in a similar fashion.
No one is upset if accused of
being partially composed of iron, but will express outrage if imputed to
be harboring unpopular opinions.
It matters to no one how other
humans may be combining the physical elements of this planet,
(unless of course the guy on
the floor below is
mixing up homemade bombs),
for generally, all profit from
such,
but when men begin to stir up
& combine the mental elements, (words), of their mind -- there
is hell to pay.
Men fear ghosts more than the sword.
Now --
back as always to the confines
of your own head.
How you combine, or think
of combining the physical materials you find on this planet
is of no relevance to our instant
interest,
but the combining of mentally-made-up-materials
going on continually in your
head
is at the very core of our concern.
Every idea ever uttered by any
man who ever breathed
was a compound of sounds that
will not hold together;
as easily as a man can say that
2 is a rational number --
he can say that it is not,
and only those who never catch
on to the joke
believe that the distinction
is significant.
The most disorienting mental
combining is in the putting together of the word, “my” with any other;
by so doing are your thoughts
able to pass themselves off as a person, and then this non existent, mind-person
is made capable of pretending
that it possesses stuff…
...stuff that is likewise
-- non existent.
If you’re able
to believe in Santa Claus
then you’re capable of comprehending what
he thinks about at Xmas .
Do not bother to say that you
are “asleep” --
say that you are Santa Claus
-- it is the same thing.
No thought ever automatically
passes through the consciously aware area of your brain that is not a compound
of non existent materials:
a prior combining of imaginary
elements,
that have no lasting attraction
to one another,
and will disintegrate just as
easily and quickly
as you can say: “But I do not
agree…”
Plastics are permanent -- thoughts, throw-a-ways.
