       MY KINGDOM FOR A POSSESSIVE PRONOUN
       THAT PROVES NOT A BETRAYER & DECEIVER.
                             _____________

For the adventurer desirous of reaching that
certain-place,
a much more misleading word than “I” is, “my.”

A man may certainly possess physical objects,
but as for possession of anything else  --  forget it!
Your inner perception must be severely distorted
to believe that you can.

Why do those who want to
leave-home, and understand-what-is-going-on
experience such difficulty in doing so?
Answer: Their foot is nailed to the floor by, “my.”

A lion chowing down on a carcass does not have to say
to approaching hyenas: “MY carcass!”
Possession of things physical is self evident,
and in no need of verbal shoring.
Men too have no doubts as regards what
they physically possess,
but past this plain-view, externally-extant, way-station
the landscape becomes foggy & obscure,
and yet most would-be adventurers
never notice the change in conditions.

Anyone who actively, and uprightly travels this
inner road eventually realizes that every time they say, “I” --  to some degree --  they lie,
in that no word, no sentence,
no life time of words & sentences can begin to
adequately portray a man’s life.
If he never comes to recognize this,
he will forever remain normal and nonplussed,
and never roam far from where he began.

But  there is a much more pronounced, overlooked,
and devastating effect the word, “my” has on a
nascent sojourner,
for the inner intangibles to which a man’s
mental voice lays claim
constitute the very structure that claims to be, “I.”

A further unrecognized result of the unstudied use of the word, “my” is the establishment in each person’s thinking of an internal duality:
that of “I”, and of what I “possess;”
a ME, and a MY:
not only a fictional being,
but one with imaginary possessions.
(As in all such instances: it is easy to see how this arrangement serves well the need of man collectively,
but of interest to us here is how it plays out
in the individual anxious to leave the herd.)

Examples of how the word & concept of “my”  --
as applied to intangibles  --  misleads,
are as numerous as nouns for intangibles:
”It was MY choice”  --  “MY fault”  --  “MY dream,”
(and endlessly, so on),
but there is one use of this word which is the very immaterial, inner ground upon which all of the other
intangible structures stand:
the source of all distortions, and clearly displayed
in any sentence containing reference to:
                              MYMIND.

All who go after The Enlightenment; The Awakening;
The Liberation, (no matter the terms in which they think about their efforts, as dictated by the teaching
they have adopted),
are on a journey of the mind,
with the only impediment BEING the mind.

Distinctions are clearly verbalized:
”I am working to go from an asleep mind
to an awakened mind”;
”From a dark mind to an enlightened mind”;
”From a captive mind to a liberated mind,”
and the descriptions are not unfounded -- not initially,
(everyone has to start somewhere,
and on a journey that exists solely in the mind...
...well, you can see the inherent inevitability.)

But the endless, unanalyzed  acceptance of you thinking that YOU are in a struggle-with YOUR mind,
(or,consciousness, soul, spirit,  self,  or whatever),
ultimately becomes density-on-the-hoof, and distraction sufficient to disorient-Magellan-in-a-bathtub.

While being super attentive,  say to yourself right now,  something about: “My mind.”
Does not something  strike you as strange;
does it not sound spooky, irrational, and unreal?!
If you have the inner ears of a real traveler, it does.

Every semi viable method men have publicly employed to make this trip has been based on observation of oneself, which is to say,
observation of one’s inner self --  one’s mind,
(and known by such sobriquets as:
self remembering; self observation;
mindfulness of the mind, etc),
but few who undertake such ever pursue the tool to
its head splitting destination.
After a life time involved in the struggle to,
”remember himself” a man will freely,
(and accurately), admit that he cannot “do it”
all of the time, but that progress is gradually being made.
Those secured away in mountain top communities
living in silence; dedicated to becoming,
“eternally mindful of their mind”  usually never recognize the plain-and-in-sight lesson that is to be
learned from the endeavor;
they fail to finally face the fact that they cannot
achieve such a state permanently;
at best a man can be, “mindful of his mind,”
or “self remember” but for an instant;
one moment he is totally “asleep” then suddenly
he remembers his aim & method,
and for a moment he is NOT asleep;
then in a flash -  he, (his mind), is asleep once more.
And this scene will be repeated as long as his
brain is alive.

Very few of those involved in such activities
ever see what it is that they should have finally realized from their efforts.

Thinking, saying anything to yourself concerning,
”my mind” --  “my thoughts”
is a continuing guarantee that you will never catch-on
to what’s going-on.
Letting your mental life slip by in this unconscionable,
and unprofitable manner will keep you confused,
and unable to comprehend how humans can say,
and believe what they do,
and why you cannot shake free of being
their most impotent & frustrated critic,
(and this is not even taking into account your criticism of your self.)

       Just ponder that notion: YOUR criticism of YOU!

        …and to look at you, you can’t tell that you’re twins!

It takes two to be confused, asleep & unenlightened,
and it takes a confused, sleeping & unenlightened person to believe that he IS two.

     "Yeah, me -- AND my mind."
                                Yeah  --   right!

A most disabling idea: "I possess a mind  --  I have thoughts;”
a most potentially enabling phrase: “There is no mine.”
Just hold the concept: “This is not me thinking  --  this is thinking thinking.”
